Notice Of Registration
NOTICE OF REGISTRATION OF APPLICATIONS FILED AT THE COURT
The notice of registration of new applications, as published in the Official Journal of the Community, serves to formally notify ECOWAS Member States of cases filed at the Court. In accordance with Article 13(6) of the Court’s Rules of Procedure, the publication includes essential information such as the names of the parties involved, case numbers, and a summary of the violations alleged by the applicant(s), the reliefs sought, the pleas in law, and the main supporting arguments. By notifying Member States of each registered application, this publication allows governments to monitor and intervene in cases that may involve their interests or obligations under ECOWAS Protocols, facilitating both awareness and preparedness for possible legal or policy implications. This practice reinforces the Court’s role as an open and accountable institution within the ECOWAS framework, supporting its mission to uphold justice and regional unity.
